If you love vintage and like the thrill of  the chase, you can’t beat trawling though traditional op shops. The Big Three? Good Sammy’s, St Vinnies and Salvation Army. Our best tip? Check out the outer suburbs.  You’ll be hard pressed to find much in city locations  - the cool kids got there ages ago.

We can’t reveal all of our secrets here (although we tend to let slip at meetings) however to get you started, you may like to check out Morley (Salvos - 156 Russell Street near Galleria, Good Sammy’s - 51 Walter Rd) and Scarborough (Red Cross - 164A Scarborough Beach Road, St Vinnies - Shop 3 160 Scarborough Beach Rd,  Save the Children 166 Scarborough Beach Road).

Check out the KittenTails chic blog for a full list of perth opshops by suburb. Bliss!

No time for trawling?

If you adore retro retail but don’t have the time to trawl, Perth has some amazing independent retailers who have already done half the work for you (and they are getting new stock in all the time). A few of our favorites below. Additional suggestions welcome.

Winifred and Bance

850 Beaufort St, Inglewood

Winifred & Bance – we love you! As well as purveyors of all things vintage (at reasonable prices to boot), and creators of a fantastic website (we love their School of Vintage)...they also throw amazing Swap Parties about four times a year.

Fi & Co

82 High Street Fremantle (in the vaults of the New Edition Bookshop)

289 William Street, Northbridge

Fi & Co, we thank you for  your oh-so-stylish range of vintage finds - and we'll show our appreciation in your Northbridge or Freo stores.

MoMo’s

849 Beaufort St, Inglewood

Don’t forget to drop into MoMo’s after you visit Winifred And Bance. Maybe a little pricier  - but some good quality finds here.

A lovely shop with lovely, lovely things.

Retro Vinnies

267B William St, Northbridge

Good prices and a fairly good range for a central charity shop.
