We Belles were ridiculously excited last September about the biggest science experiment the world has even seen  -  the launch of CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC).  A 27km circular tunnel (running deep under the Swiss-French border), the LHC was built to smash protons together at velocities just below the speed of light… and just maybe uncover some of the secrets of the universe in the process. However, only 36hours into the project, the machine was found to have a fault and shut down!
