1 Million Women - Daughters, mothers, sisters, and grandmothers against climate change

Launched yesterday – 1 Million Women is a  campaign to inspire women interested in preventing climate change to make a commitment to reduce their CO2 emissions by one tonne over 12 months (which would reduce Australia’s emissions by 1 million tonnes).

Ban the bag!

The Belles were recently shocked to hear about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch – a plastic soup of floating waste twice the size of the USA. 

We were happier to hear that in three weeks time, South Australia will be the first state in the nation to ban plastic shopping bags. 
From May 4, shoppers in SA will no longer be able to get bags at the checkout. It's a small inconvenience that will have a huge impact - to the tune of 400 million plastic bags a year.
